You say Nobody, I say Somebody

I want to tell you a story, a story that was never told but will be told at this very moment when you read it till the end. Who's the main star of this particular story? You. Them. All of us.

Imagine a life where you couldn't possibly dream, a life where you couldn't live with your own thoughts, a life where you can't pursuit your goals. Now thats a life no one wants. What makes us wake up everyday is a reason, a reason that makes us get up from bed, wash our teeth, get dressed and walk to school/work. We all share one thing in common. Dreams.

Now some of you might think those kind of people are dreamers, idealistic and definitely not realistic ones. But I will tell you those "dreamers" are the ones who will pursuit their goals, because without a dream you cannot have a goal, without a goal you cannot achieve anything. Maybe I am too optimistic, but the world needs more optimistic people. It needs next-door girl to brake the chain and rule the world, it needs the beaten and heartbroken ones to go after their goals, it needs people who are willing to take that extra mile.

When I look back in time, the people who were in my life, I feel proud when I see the dreamers actually made it. The dreamers made it. And they are ready to go that extra mile no matter what people say. "You are nobody until you are talked about" -interesting saying. Its true. She was a nobody until she became somebody and now she is reaching her goals, living the dream. I am talking about a girl who actually made it. A girl who had a dream, a girl who was pushed down many times for things she never did, a girl who was nobody until she became somebody. She is definitely somebody.

Do you know her? Most probably yes. But she is not the star of this story, she is a great example, a living proof of making things happen. If you have a dream, you have to protect it. If you want something, go get it! Its about me, its about you, its about all of us.

This world has more than 7 billion faces, 7 billion mind, 14 billion pair of eyes and dreams of amount of eternity! I am not saying we all can get what we want, because that will be too naive. What I am saying is if we were less afraid of what others might say and think, if we had a bigger heart to love more, to help each other more, to work as a team, we could achieve more dreams as one than alone. Humankind cannot do anything alone, thats just a proven fact.

Where am I taking you with my words, where am I taking you with my stories? I am taking you to my world, I am taking you to a place where you can make things happen not just in my world but also in your world. "You must be the change you want to see in the world" -Gandhi. What did he mean with this? It means CHANGE your own world into a world you are proud to speak of, a world where you are not ashamed of, a world that you can preach to others -only after that you can change the rest of the world.

You say Nobody, I say Somebody. Be that Somebody. Not tomorrow but today.

A Piece of Heaven

I left my hometown, Hawler, almost a week ago because I wanted to go visit my family since I haven't seen them for almost more than 3 months. My family booked tickets to Turkey, Istanbul for a vacation and since Kurdistan and Turkey are 2h away by a plane, I came here too. I've spent more than couple of days here, and to be quite honest its pretty amazing. I love it how the middle eastern society mixes with the western society. One moment you hear the praying times and people going to the mosques and the second moment you hear "Tsunami" song all around the streets of Istanbul -Clubbing is nearly in every corner. When these two mixes, it gives me small heart attacks because it just doesn't make sense to me but still its amazing how well they get along. Now that needs looooot of adjusting. Hats off for that!

When I travel by taxi in Kurdistan and its the praying time the drivers actually put down the radio until the Mulla stops. But in here, totally different story. These small things makes me wonder about the world and everything that is happening right now.

I'm walking down the Taksim shopping road and I look around. I can see every kind of people walking down that streets; there are dancers, singers, hippies, police officers, youngsters, oldies, you name it. At one end I see a protest "free palestine" and at the other end I see signs for "Israel". Confusing? Much.. My point: Turks are known for many things but no one has ever mentioned how adjustable they can be, how peacefully they all live together!

Throughout the media world all we see is pain and heart attacks, wars and more wars, conflicts, disasters but not a single good thing. If this world for once put their focus on the positive energy, we could build a strong foundation for a better future. Whats a better future? Let me tell you.

A better future is a future where we don't have to see videos of small children picking up tiny pieces of bread and cooking soup out of that! Ask yourself, how well you fed yourself today? How many times you ate? How many glasses of water you were able to drink today, tonight? And the worst part is that a 6 years old little girl knows better than 98% of the worlds population how not to waste food and throw it on the ground. We see it as trash, she sees it as a treasure.

The crown of all this is the Holy Month Ramadan. This month teaches us to be humble, patient and good hearted. At least it should. But it doesn't because we are slaves to our routines, we cannot break any chain around our necks because we cannot even recognize what is happening around us right now. We sit in our cool houses, drive in our cozy Mercedes, give dime or two to beggars and feel like we have done our share. No.

As insignificant as it sounds, those little pieces of bread are actually pieces of Heaven.  If we don't know how to treat heaven here on earth, how can we assume to even have a green light to see the doors of Paradise.

God did me a favor, again..

I can't even remember when was the last time I sat down and wrote about something. This life takes you to a tour that has no stops, not even if you force the driver to stop. The only way to stop the fast train is to push the breaks down as hard as you can, and if you survive through that break - take a deep breath and look around. Where are you? With who? Where are you going? The basic questions we need to ask ourselves once in a while. I've gone too fast with this train.

When I first saw it, I felt like "wow... this is amazing I gotta jump in and take this chance because its once in a  lifetime", this is what we keep telling ourselves when we see an opportunity that seems just amazing (and sometimes too good to be true). Maybe Im confusing you right now with my fast trains and opportunities, but think of this train as a train that comes by very rarely. You see that special train, you jump in because you just convinced yourself that the train won't ever come back again so you just have to jump in. Now you are in this train, because you are so amazed you got to live and see this, you don't really look, you don't really feel, you don't really react. You know what you are doing? You are simply someone who has been swept away. This moment is called "false reality". The most dangerous place one can be at.

Ever heard people telling you "Keep your eyes open" and you are like "yah yah, its open! What's your problem?". Well they tell you this for a reason! But you don't realize this until your false reality, or as I call it "Bubble world", crashes down. We as human beings try to forget the bad things, we try to find ways around it, we do our best to close our eyes from the truth because the truth hurts too much. But what if we all for once kept our eyes really open, really let ourselves hear, really took a deep breath and looked around. Oh but we can't do this.. Why? Because we are simply too busy to sit down for a coffee and look around.

For thousands of years the world has had only 24h in a day, 60 minutes in an hour and 60 seconds in a minute but why a day feels like 12h, 30 minutes in an hour and 30 seconds in a minute? Why when I look around I don't really see, I don't really feel? I am too busy.

Today I decided I don't want to be too busy anymore. I want to sit down and eat with an amazing taste in my mouth, I actually want to taste it. I want to drink tea without thinking of a message I need to reply. I want to watch a movie without a Facebook notification. I want to sleep without someone waking me up to ask am I sleeping. I want to walk and feel the air through my hair. I want to sit with my sister without having our iPhones in our hand. I want to be loved and love in return. I want to spread happiness. I want to climb the mountain and shout to the world "God without you I am lost".

God.. Where does God fit in any of these? Well hold up, because all of this has one point. Its waking up to the reality and realizing that God did me a favor... AGAIN. How? He knew I can do better, He knew this is not my purpose, He knew I got to wake up.

Funny that waking up thing.. I feel like we are either too busy or always sleeping our eyes wide open. Don't expect big things to happen, start from a small thing. Leave your phone, your laptop, your tv and just go to the nearest person and ask "How was your day today?"

Going straight to my point. Stop wondering why God makes you feel so bad, why God is not giving you what you want, stop blaming others for where you are right now. Have we ever thought, maybe god did us a favor all this time? Maybe god has a better plan for us? Took me ages to understand this too, but now whenever something doesn't go as I want, I thank God. I look around, take a deep breath and just smile.

The world is already too messed up to blame anyone, take a look around yourself.
